Our annual fall opener, NEW NOW WOW, once again proves the important role new dance creation and emerging choreographers hold in the contemporary world.
Portland audiences got pumped prior to the shows when The Oregonian listed, NEW NOW WOW as one it’s “Best Bets.” The Willamette Week printed an insightful preview into the performance including interviews with each of the choreographers.
Following the shows, Bob Hicks from ArtsWatch wrote an wonderful review on the show citing the, “dancers’ intense focus, flexibility, and ability to make a scene pop off the stage.” Artslandia’s Jamuna Chiarini had something to say when she proclaimed, “this is a magnificent concert. I wish I could see it again.”
Brilliant Seattle critic, Lady M, took her online blog, Thus Spoke Lady M, that “I left my heart in Portland,” after being blown away by “art this elegant, this radiant, and this exquisite simply took my breath away from the first isolation to the final stunning pose.” We’re looking forward to having Lady M at more performances.
