Casey Davenport

Casey Davenport is the Director of Ballet + Pointe at Innovative Dance, DOTY Performance/Dance, and is senior ballet faculty at Chehalem Valley Dance Academy (CVDA) encompassing over 15 years at the front of the studio. Casey has taught on faculty at Stites Dance Center and Da Vinci Arts Middle School. He has choreographed in partnership with Chehalem Valley Symphony for The Nutcracker, an abridged Dracula, and Cinderella among many other independent works. He has staged choreography for several high school dance teams and theater departments, and at Clark College. Casey’s dedication to his craft is apparent in his energetic teaching style and by his consistent participation in professional development workshops, trainings, lectures, and seminars, including the Pacific Northwest Ballet Teachers Seminar. Casey is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) in the Junior, Senior, and Advanced Programs. He is the founder of Ballet Teachers Unite! — an online forum with over 3,000 active members designed to build community and provide support for dance educators with an emphasis on positive and healthy ballet training practices. As a student, Casey trained with Caroline Kaiser, James Canfield, John Gardner, Sarah Rigles, and many others. Casey’s former students have gone on to study with Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre, Dance West, The Jefferson Dancers, Edge Performing Arts Center, Millennium Dance Complex, STEPS, and Broadway Dance Centers. His students have also received several ballet scholarships through the NYC Dance Alliance, and have performed with Oregon Ballet Theatre, Moscow Ballet, Portland Festival Ballet, and several cruise ships, Vegas shows, and touring Broadway shows. Casey’s joy in ballet is impacting as many students as possible with quality, conceptual training, and humor.
