Cora Guren began her dance training with with Ann Vorus and Mary Legere at the Raleigh School of Ballet. At age 14, she left home to study at Pittsburgh Ballet School’s Schenley High School Program for two years. After a summer at the School of American Ballet, Cora was asked to stay for the year and continued her studies with Stanley Williams, Kay Mazzo, Susan Pilarre, and Suki Schorer among others. After performing lead roles in Concerto Barocco and Rubies in the spring workshop, Cora was asked to join New York City Ballet, where she danced for two years before deciding to attend Carleton College. In Portland, she spends her time working as a registered nurse and raising her two sons.
