Isabel Holmes started her dance career at the age of 3 in Southern California where she grew up. Izzy trained at the pre-professional studio The Performing Arts Center, completing advanced levels of ballet, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop with the PAC staff as well as professional guest choreographers including Marguerite Derricks, Nathan Provost and Jane Lanier. At 12 years old she auditioned to dance hip hop in a commercial choreographed by Travis Payne, one of Michael Jackson’s choreographers and was chosen to be a member of the highly select cast. While studying mathematics and Spanish at Emory University in Atlanta, Izzy continued dancing on campus and off campus. Izzy became president and choreographer of the all-female hip hop company Persuasion. Persuasion was invited to dance at university functions as well as being hired to perform at events throughout Atlanta. When she graduated Emory, Izzy was offered the job of assistant choreographer for the renowned Public Theatre’s Shakespeare In The Park. She worked for Tony award winner, director Dan Sullivan, helping to stage and choreograph actors Kate Burton, Hamish Linklater, Raul Esparza, Lily Rabe and others, for the 2015 production of Cymbeline. Their production was nominated for a Joe A. Calloway Dance Award. Izzy has recently moved to Portland and is excited to bring her big city experience to her wonderful new home.
