Shaun Keylock is an award-winning choreographer, director, teacher, and dancer based in Portland, Oregon. He founded Shaun Keylock Company in 2018 as a framework for his ongoing interests in fields both beyond and in dialogue with dance. Keylock’s movement research is rooted in contemporary performance that is at once both technically sound and radically subversive. Oregon ArtsWatch has noted Keylock’s “bold movement and delicate intimacy.” His choreography has been presented at ACDA Northwest, Regional Dance America, Dance Source Houston, Ten Tiny Dances, and New Expressive Works.
Keylock has also taught workshops and master classes throughout Oregon and Washington and has served as a guest teacher and faculty member at several universities and schools, including Pacific University, Western Oregon University, and the University of Oregon, as well as NW Dance Project, Columbia Dance, and BodyVox Dance Center. Presently, Keylock continues to create compelling, original works with his company of dancers in Portland, as well as teach both emerging and professional dance artists through his unique approach to choreography and dance making.
