Junior Dance Intensive

NW Dance Project’s Summer Programs offer exceptional weekly curriculum. Dancers will experience the joy of dance taught by Portland’s finest teachers. With an open and inclusive environment that values the creative process, our classes develop technique, coordination, flexibility, balance, individual expression, spatial awareness, strength, and group cooperation skills.

Our Junior Dance Intensive is geared for more advanced dancers ages 11 to 18 interested in a comprehensive curriculum of classical ballet and contemporary techniques, and other disciplines and styles of dance in preparation for NW Dance Project’s Youth Professional Training Program starting SEP 10 / 2018.

Dancers train Monday – Friday from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

Junior Dance Intensive provides in-depth classes in Ballet + Pointe + Variations + Contemporary Jazz + Hip Hop + Improvisation + Choreography

Dancers will work with NW Dance Project’s extraordinary faculty of teachers as they are mentored to push and develop their creativity, ideas and versatility . A showcase of choreography and techniques learned will be performed for family and friends on the final day of our Junior Dance Intensive.

Registration will open in January / 2018.
No Audition Required.

Ballet Attire – Black leotard + pink tights for girls. Fitted white t-shirt with black shorts or tights for boys. Long hair pulled into a bun or shorter hair held back with a headband. All dancers are required to wear ballet slippers and bring pointe shoes for pointe classes. For dancers who have no pointe shoe experience will take class in ballet slippers.

Contemporary Jazz / Musical Theater / Hip Hop / Improv Attire – Dance, yoga, or athletic wear. Long hair in a ponytail or bun and short hair clipped back. Bare feet or socks only.

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and snacks for breaks!
