5 Day Workshop for Professional Dancers to advance their career

Today’s professional dancers are asked to improvise, reinvent steps, switch-up phrases, change musicality, and make impulsive and artistic choices. Technique alone is not enough — dancers must also now be creators.

This in-person workshop week will provide dancers with the insights, improvisational skills, and creative tools that are needed by today’s most sought-after companies and choreographers.

NW Dance Project is committed to offering a supportive and encouraging environment so that each dancer can develop and discover their unique creative voice.

Dancers are offered the rare opportunity to work with NW Dance Project’s founding Artistic Director, Sarah Slipper, guest choreographer Joseph Hernandez, award-winning dancer Andrea Parson, company dancer Jihyun Kim, and master teacher LeeWei Chao as they are mentored to push and develop their creativity, ideas, and versatility.

Each day will start with ballet class led by guest teachers, followed by contemporary movement, improvisation, and choreographic development sessions.

All participants must be fully vaccinated to attend this workshop and all dancers must comply with any needed masking requirements.
