Advanced Platform

2020 Audition Tour Announced
JULY 13 - AUGUST 7 / 2020

NW Dance Project’s Advanced Platform offers a rigorous, inspiring, and unique experience for professional and pre-professional dancers ages 18 to 24.

In 2017, NW Dance Project inaugurated our Advanced Platform in our summer programming. Our Advanced Platform is geared for those exemplary dancers 18+ who display advanced technique and artistic maturity and are ready to be pushed and developed to help make the transition from school to career.

NW Dance Project’s Advanced Platform is held at our beautiful state-of-the-art Creative Center and offers a rigorous, inspiring, and unique experience. Today’s dancers are asked to improvise, reinvent steps, switch-up phrases, change musicality and make impulsive, artistic choices. Technique alone is not enough — dancers must also now be creators.

Dancers will train with the award-winning company members of NW Dance Project and be immersed in professional technique classes and experience the creative process, repertoire, improvisation and movement styles that are necessary tools for every dancer. This intense, hands-on month of training will provide dancers with the insights, improvisational skills and creative tools that are needed by the most sought after companies and choreographers of today.

Participants will dance Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday, 12:30 to 4:30pm. Each day will start with a ballet class followed by a contemporary technique class. After the lunch break, dancers will participate in repertoire, improvisation, composition and choreographic development sessions. Informative discussions with our artists on career planning and life of a professional dancer will also be offered.

These four weeks of creative discovery will culminate in an exciting public theater showing on Friday, August 7 / 2020 at Lincoln Performance Hall. This is a ticketed event.

NW Dance Project is committed to offering a supportive and encouraging environment so that each dancer can develop and discover their unique creative voice. Dancers will work with NW Dance Project’s extraordinary, award-winning company members as they are mentored to push and develop their creativity, ideas and versatility.

2020 Tuition: $2,400
2020 Housing + Meal Plan: $1,950 + Optional Meal Plan $550

Dancers must audition for inclusion in our 2020 Advanced Platform. Dancers 21+ interested in auditioning for Advanced Platform can attend either a LAUNCH project audition or a Summer Dance Intensive audition. We hold “no cut” auditions for our Advanced Platform and Summer Dance Intensive auditions unless overly full. All dancers applying must be at least age 18 by August 7 / 2020. No exceptions will be made.

Video audition submissions are still being accepted. Please email with your resume and cover letter to be considered.

Pre-Registration has closed for 2020 auditions. Dancers who wish to register in-person must bring $30 cash only to pay their audition fee and register at least 30 minutes prior to audition.
All dancers must bring a hard copy of their application form, résumé, head shot and dance shot to the audition.

Audition results will be sent by email within one to two weeks following the audition. NW Dance Project has a limited number of spots available in our Advanced Platform. Accepted students are required to confirm their spot and submit their deposit by the registration deadline in their acceptance email.
