2020 Pretty Creatives Winners – TBA April 2020

LAUNCH is a unique project designed for professional dancers (age 21+) seeking opportunities to see and be seen. Selected dancers will work for two intensive weeks alongside leading choreographers and Artistic Directors and with the two winners of our annual Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition on movement exploration, improvisation, techniques, creation, and choreographic mastery.

Out of an abundance of caution, NW Dance Project will be closed for the time being. Our staff is working remotely and can be reached via phone and/or e-mail.

At this point, we plan to hold our annual summer LAUNCH project as scheduled (JUN 30 – JUL 11), with some minor, responsive adjustments. We will continue to closely monitor the coronavirus situation through the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Oregon Health Authority.

LAUNCH is a unique project designed for professional dancers seeking opportunities to see and be seen. For our 2020 project, selected dancers will work for two intensive weeks alongside Artistic Director Sarah Slipper, and NW Dance Project’s leading choreographers that have created specifically on the company and with the two winners of our annual Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition on movement exploration, improvisation, techniques, creation, and choreographic mastery.

In addition to morning master ballet classes and working closely with our esteemed guest artists, experiencing their artistic and company’s style and making critical professional connections, LAUNCH provides the opportunity to collaborate in the creative process while working with two unique creative voices — the two winners of our annual Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition.

LAUNCH serves as the audition process for NW Dance Project company positions for dancers. All interested dancers must audition in-person for LAUNCH.

We love to really see dancers. LAUNCH serves as the audition process for NW Dance Project Company Positions.

LAUNCH    June 30 – JUL 11 / 2020
Dancers must be 21+ by June 30 / 2020. No exceptions will be made. Dancers must be experienced, demonstrate advanced ballet technique, be versatile and movement oriented, be open to artistic direction and suggestion, and be explorative and highly professional.

Participation in LAUNCH is highly selective and limited in order to provide each dancer the opportunity to work directly and intimately with NW Dance Project and our guest artists and the two winning choreographers of our Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition.

Dancers are accepted into LAUNCH by audition only.

Pre-Registration has closed for 2020 auditions. Dancers who wish to register in-person must bring $30 cash only to pay their audition fee and register at least 30 minutes prior to audition.
All dancers must bring a hard copy of their application form, résumé, head shot and dance shot to the audition.

Dancers “cut” from our LAUNCH audition who want to be considered for our Summer Dance Intensive and Advanced Platform  must audition but will not have to pay a second audition fee. See our Summer Dance Intensive and Advanced Platform audition times here.

We only accept auditions by DVD or online link in very special circumstances. Permission must be requested prior and with good reason. We wish to remind dancers that because of LAUNCH’s distinctiveness and limited project positions, we want to see dancers audition in-person.

LAUNCH Project Fee / $985
