Summer Dance

Our Summer Dance Intensive and Summer Dance Classes are designed to support developing young dancers through daily classes in classical and contemporary movement styles, as well as special workshops in improvisation, choreography, and conditioning.

ALL SUMMER PROGRAMS ARE CURRENTLY SCHEDULED TO BE OFFERED IN-PERSON ONLY  (limited capacity, no virtual components).

SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE
JUN 28 to JUL 2 / 2021
Our 2021 Summer Dance Intensive features NW Dance Project’s extraordinary roster of faculty and teaching artists mentoring participants through technical dance training, creative development, and artistic expression. With an open and inclusive environment that values the individual creative process, our Summer Dance Intensive focuses on technique, movement, strengthening and conditioning, versatility, and creativity to support a balanced dance training experience. Each intensive will conclude with a showing for family and friends.

Dancers 9 to 13 – ELEMENTARY / INTERMEDIATE
MON to FRI – 10:00AM to 2:00PM – FULL
includes daily ballet + contemporary jazz + musical theater + hip hop + choreography

MON to FRI – 2:15 to 6:15PM – SPOTS AVAILABLE
includes daily ballet + contemporary jazz + musical theater + hip hop + choreography

Dancers 13 to 18 –  INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED
MON to FRI – NOON to 4:00PM – SPOTS AVAILABLE
includes daily ballet + contemporary + hip hop + improv + choreography + conditioning

SUMMER DANCE CLASSES

Our Summer Dance Classes are a great introduction to dance, offering young dancers opportunities to gain an understanding of how their bodies can move and communicate through dance. These classes focus on providing an introduction to fundamental dance techniques, musicality, coordination, and creative expression while being engaging, active, and fun.

Please note: We highly recommend early registration to ensure a spot in our summer programs due to limited in-person capacity as we continue following COVID-19 health guidelines and safety protocols.

MAINTENANCE + PLACEMENT CLASSES
We are offering a weekly series of ballet classes that allow students the ability to continue to advance their training in preparation for the school year. These classes also offer an excellent opportunity for new students to be placed into our Professional Training Programs.

Ballet Attire – Black leotard + pink tights for girls. Fitted white t-shirt with black shorts or tights for boys. Long hair pulled into a bun or shorter hair held back with a headband.

Contemporary Jazz / Musical Theater / Hip Hop / Improv Attire – Dance, yoga, or athletic wear. Long hair in a ponytail or bun and short hair clipped back. Bare feet or socks only.

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle and snacks for breaks!
