Summer Dance Platform Resident Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

NW Dance Project is seeking candidates to fill our Summer Dance Platform Resident Assistant position. This is a seasonal, full-time position located in Portland, OR. The Summer Dance Platform Resident Assistant is responsible for supervising and supporting dancers between the ages of 15 and 17 residing in the residence halls.

Requirements
  • Be available JUL 13 – JUL 31 / 2026
  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Possess strong communication skills and be highly organized
  • Driver’s license is a plus, but not required
Compensation
  • $650 per week
  • Housing + 2 meals per day
  • Opportunity to take SDP morning ballet class, as daily circumstances permit

Responsibilities
  • Monitor students as they sign in and out of the dorms
  • Be present and available at the Student Housing Facility when students are not in class, which is:
  • M-F: 5:00pm - 9:00am the following day
  • Sat: remain on location until noon, return by 4pm
  • Sun: All day
  • Be "on-call" when students are in classes, should an emergency happen or a student fall ill
  • Organize activities for the students. We will provide a list of suggested activities but expect the RA to plan and execute such outings
  • Be inviting and friendly to the students, while also being in charge and demonstrating professionalism
  • Effectively monitor student behavior and enforce Portland State University and NW Dance Project’s policies and procedures
  • Effectively supervise students to assure student safety and well-being
