2024/25 DRESS CODE image

DRESS CODE OVERVIEW

Our biggest priority is setting students up for success. We want students to walk into the classroom ready to move, learn, train and explore! We pride ourselves on an inclusive dress code that allows options outside of traditional uniforms. Students must be able to move freely without restriction and attire must be form fitting, so faculty can see alignment and ensure movements are done properly. Please read through our dress code very carefully and let us know if you have any questions.

No jewelry or watches allowed
Please do not apply lotion or oils immediately before class
For ballet classes, a hair bun is required
For all other classes, hair should be tied back and secured neatly out of face
Some hair types and lengths may require a bun alternative. Ask the front desk for assistance when finding an appropriate alternative.

EXPECTATIONS + POLICIES

DANCE CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE

Dancers are expected to treat their peers, teachers, staff, and facility with the utmost respect. Parents will be consulted if a student is exhibiting poor behavior.

Phones are not allowed in the studio nor are students allowed to check their phones during class or on water breaks.

No jewelry or clothing outside of the required dress code is allowed. Students may be asked to sit out if they do not arrive in proper dress code.

No food or drink, other than water bottles, is permitted in the studio. Snacks and other drinks are restricted to the studio lobby.

Dancers are responsible for keeping track of their belongings. We do have a lost and found that is donated quarterly.

Dancers should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during class. We do not provide cups for water.

ATTENDANCE

Be punctual. Dancers are expected to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class. Punctuality and attendance is critical to consistent progress and advancement. Students who are consistently late or absent may be asked to meet with staff.

Students may be asked to sit out and observe if they arrive more than 10 minutes after the start of class.

Dancers are permitted to miss two classes per term (fall, winter, spring). More than two absences could affect future placement and performance opportunities.

Please notify us via phone or email if you will be late or absent. When possible, it is courteous to notify both your teacher and staff the week prior to your absence.

In the event a dancer becomes injured, it is expected that they continue attending class to observe and take notes in a notebook.

We do not offer makeup classes for absences.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Important information about performances, registration, and more is sent via email. Please ensure your online account reflects your best email address and phone number.

Our lobby is closed to observation during class time. Parents/guardians are welcome to come in and drop off dancers prior to the start of class, but we ask that they do not watch class as this can be distracting and make other dancers uncomfortable. The lobby will open 5 minutes prior to the end of class for pick up.

Videoing or taking photos during class time is not allowed.
