Alejandra Preciado was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before her family returned to their home in Panama City, Panama, where she began dancing at the age of 3. Alejandra and her family relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she continued her dance training at different institutions such as Ballet West Academy. Upon graduating high school, she attended the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California, where she performed works by Gregory Dawson, Arturo Fernandez, Alice Klock, and many others. Alejandra spent her summers training at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Nederlands Dans Theater, and Springboard Danse Montréal. After graduating college in 2019, Alejandra began working with various San Francisco Bay Area choreographers and joined SFDanceworks under the direction of Laura O’Malley and Brett Conway. Alejandra is thrilled to join NW Dance Project and have the opportunity to work under Sarah Slipper’s direction.
