Annie Borden is originally from Seattle, Washington, and currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband Casey. Annie started dancing young with small competition studios in the area and then moved on to receive the bulk of her training with Pacific Northwest Ballet School. In 2017, Annie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. During her time there she worked closely with teachers and choreographers such as; Amy Ernst, Tamara Dkye-Compton, Douglas Nielsen, and James Clouser. While in school she also had the privilege to perform works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Ohad Naharin. Annie has also trained under Alonzo King, Peter Chu, Banning Bouldin, Guy Shomroni, Yaniv Abraham, and Yin Yue. Since living in Portland, Annie most recently worked with Katie Scherman + Artists, where she performed a premiere work, “To Have it All” in 2018. Annie has also performed works by Trevor Wilde in the BRINE Dance Festival and the NEW Expressive Works residency. Annie loves teaching dance and as of recently is also a certified yoga teacher. She makes it her mission to be an honest artist, always aiming to share real-life experiences and topics through movement.
