Maranda Jory

Maranda Jory is a 2019 summa cum laude graduate of University of Cincinnati, where they received a BFA in Dance from the College-Conservatory of Music and a BA in Political Science. Before attending college, they received their year-round dance training at Los Angeles Ballet School, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (JKO) School at American Ballet Theatre, and State Street Ballet. While at JKO, they had the opportunity to perform with American Ballet Theatre in Coppelia and Le Corsaire, and in 2010, they were a part of the original cast of Alexei Ratmansky’s Nutcracker for ABT. In 2015, they received a full scholarship to participate in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth program and train at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia. Maranda has danced professionally with State Street Ballet and PDX Contemporary Ballet.

Maranda has taught ballet and pointe at State Street Ballet, the College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department, Encore Performing Arts Center, Doty Performance, and NW Dance Project. They are also a certified Zena Rommett floor-barre instructor and have been teaching floor-barre to people of all backgrounds and skill levels since 2014. They are passionate about helping dancers grow inside and outside of the dance studio.
