Mikayla Heinrich-Wong, from Kahalu’u, Oahu, Hawai’i, began her dance training at Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts. She received a full-tuition scholarship, among other awards, to continue her dance training at Case Western Reserve University, where she earned her master's and bachelor's in contemporary dance and a bachelor's degree in computer science. Mikayla has trained at programs such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, NW Dance Project, YinYue Dance Company, and more. She has performed works by Ethan Colangelo, Martha Graham, Dor Mamalia, Akira Uchida, Maleek Washington, and more. Most recently, Mikayla performed and toured internationally with DanceWorks Chicago. When home in Hawai’i, Mikayla regularly guest teaches contemporary, ballet, jazz, improvisation, and choreography at various studios. Mikayla loves engaging with students at all ages - from little ones to community members, her favorite part is being present for those experiencing dance for the first time or rediscovering the love and joy they have for movement!
