Emma Casten is a recent graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education. Casten began her pre-professional dance training at the Arts and Communication Magnet Academy in Portland, Oregon, where she studied numerous styles of dance. Casten was also a member of ACMA’s Dance West Company for almost five years, performing in assorted events/concerts, and concluded her experience by graduating as Valedictorian. Simultaneously, Casten trained with the Oregon International Ballet Academy for four years where she expanded her classical training. Throughout her time at ASU, Casten explored the creative, academic, and contextual aspects of dance, as well as how to establish a successful dance classroom. In addition to being selected to choreograph for the dancers of the Metropolitan Arts Institute in Phoenix, Casten served as a student teacher, substitute, and summer school instructor at the New School for the Arts and Academics. Casten is elated to continue her teaching practice at NW Dance Project!
