Lucia Tozzi was born and raised in New York City and started her dance training with National Dance Institute under the tutelage of Jacques d’Amboise. She continued her training at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens (NY), and at The Ailey School. In 2020 she graduated with a BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase. During her time at Purchase, Lucia performed works by Pina Bausch, Ohad Naharin, Joseph Hernandez, Luke Murphy, and others. In 2019 she studied abroad at the Beijing Dance Academy in China, training in contemporary dance forms and composition. She supplemented her training with courses through B12 Berlin, Tanztheatre Wuppertal Pina Bausch, and Gallim Dance. Since graduating, Lucia has been freelancing in New York and performing with artists Alison Clancy, Michelle Thompson Ulerich, the Headlights Theater Collective, and Caitlin Javech. As a choreographer, Lucia has been commissioned to present work at Arts on Site, Dixon Place, and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts. Lucia joined NW Dance Project in 2023 and is thrilled to collaborate with all the amazing artists involved.
