Nicole Hennington spent her first two decades in Arizona where she graduated from The University of Arizona with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Finance. During this time, she studied with Chuthis, Nederlands Dans Theatre, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, New Dialect, and Ate9. Upon graduation, Nicole joined GroundWorks DanceTheater in Cleveland, Ohio under the direction of David Shimotakahara where she originated roles in works by James Gregg, Peter Chu, Antonio Brown, Brian Brooks, Hannah Garner, Robyn Mineko-Williams, Adam Barruch, and others.
Nicole attended Springboard Dans Montreal in the summer of 2022 where she worked with RUBBERBAND Dance Group and UNA Productions. As a choreographer, Nicole was commissioned by GroundWorks DanceTheater in 2022 and was selected as a choreographer for Carmel Dance Festival’s inaugural Choreography & Dance Fellowship Program in 2023.
